How do we love?

Posted: May 24, 2011 in Uncategorized

I’ve been thinking about this subject for a very long time. Very Long Time.

So many times we think of “Love” as the romantic, sweep you off your feet, cuddling all night and day kind of thing. It Is that.
It’s also the very steady, standing by someone love. The patience with people places and things that drive you crazy love.
The unconditional ” This Hurts Me More Than It Hurts You” love.
( Remember that one from your parents?)

(You don’t have to be a religious fanatic to get this next part)

It’s the Love that’s in a little book called the Bible. I was thinking about the Old Testament. God going through all kinds of trouble with his people who claim to Love Him and go their own way. They get in trouble, terrible trouble. They cry out to their leaders of the day who cry out to God. He answers, takes them back, makes a new deal with them. They repeat the behavior. He takes them back. Over and Over. It’s our story.
Do you think we should emulate the love in those stories in our daily lives with everyone in our world?

Before I wrote this I had a brief conversation with Zac Gibson. He remarked on how screwed up the world is.
He’s 18 folks. He see it with all it’s warts.Yes he goes out and has fun a lot but he returns to a screwed up world. We All Do. Thank you for that catalyst Zachary. Love you buddy!

Should we be emulating the stories? I for one say YES.
It’s always gotten me/us past many rough spots in life.
Love is the Great Equalizer! It does conquer all. ALL and EVERYTHING.
Saul/Paul/ St. Paul depending on your persuasion said it well. The link is at the bottom of this post.

I encourage you to love beyond what you normally would and practice it in everything you do. It’s time for us to change the screwed up world One, Loving Transaction / Interaction at a time.

Love and Peace to you all,
Paul
